What's this all about then?

"I've had the college. I've had the earning the money, and the material trip. I just decided I was going to find a new way of life, And so I took off on my bicycle." (Mylo)

At 10am on 27th July 2008 I will embark from Trafalgar Square, London, on an epic adventure most people only ever dream of - or have nightmares about!

I will cycle around the world on a Brompton folding bike towing a trailer for luggage, completing the trip in three stages, the first to Australia, the second the Americas, and the third from Cape Town back to London. Approximately a year after leaving I will arrive in Sydney, and then work for a year to save up more funds. From there I will fly to South America, going up the pacific coast to San Francisco and Seattle and then across to New York. I'll fly from New York to Cape Town and cycle up Africa (route liable to change) back to London. All in I expect it to take about 4 years.

On this site you'll find pages covering every aspect of the trip, from the equipment I'm taking, the charity I'm supporting, the route I'm proposing to travel, my blog and photos, as well as links to other inspiring and interesting sites or blogs about cycling or traveling. It will gradually change as I finish some pages or update others.

Anyway, there's only until I leave, so I'd better get planning!
